About Michelle
Michelle Doucette Cunningham is a candidate for Connecticut’s 53rd State House District which includes Tolland, Willington and Vernon. Michelle and her family have called Willington home since 2007.
A practical, solutions-focused leader, Michelle has a bachelor's degree in Economics from Smith College and a master’s degree in Public Policy from Rutgers University. She has devoted her career to helping children and families working at policy-focused statewide nonprofits, most recently as the Executive Director of the Connecticut Network for Children and Youth since 2004.
Michelle is a proud product of the public school system and was the first person in her extended family to attend college. She served on the Willington Board of Education for twelve years, serving as its chair for four.
Over her career, Michelle has earned a reputation for collaboration and integrity, and has a track record of getting things done. As State Representative, she’ll keep working to make Tolland, Willington and Vernon communities where families thrive, schools excel, and every voice is heard.
